How do I list a guesthouse, lodge or Airbnb in Kampala and get paid per stay?
Last updated · Wolan Real Estate
Short answer
Hotels, lodges and Airbnb-style stays are free to publish on Wolan. Wolan takes a commission only on each completed stay, taken out of the booking total rather than added on top. Guests and hosts keep a check-in record, which protects both sides if an arrival is disputed.
How the money works
- Publishing a short-stay listing is free.
- Wolan earns a commission only when a stay is completed. The current rate is shown on the pricing section of the website.
- The commission comes out of the booking total: the guest pays the price they were shown, and the host receives the total minus the commission.
Why there is a check-in record
A guest can check in from the app without needing the host to cooperate, and the host confirms the arrival with a code the guest reads out. If a host later claims nobody came, the record shows what happened, and a disputed arrival is settled by Wolan with a written reason.
Verification for businesses
Hotels and lodges are verified with their business registration. See how landlord verification works for the full list of what is needed.
